# Opportunity Radar: Discover Market Trends and Business Gaps

> The Opportunity Radar surfaces emerging trends, underserved markets, and competitive gaps relevant to your business so you never miss a growth opportunity.

Markets shift constantly—new trends emerge, competitor weaknesses open up, customer needs go unmet, and adjacent opportunities appear that didn't exist six months ago. Most founders miss these signals because they're too deep in execution to scan the broader landscape. The Opportunity Radar does that scanning for you. It continuously monitors market signals relevant to your specific business and surfaces the most actionable opportunities directly in your GetBuilo dashboard. You don't need to spend hours reading industry newsletters or tracking competitor moves—the Radar brings the most relevant signals to you, filtered through the lens of your business context, so you can stay strategically aware without slowing down.

## What the Opportunity Radar Surfaces

The Radar monitors several distinct types of market intelligence:

**Trending topics and keywords**
Rising search terms, conversations, and topics gaining traction in your market. When a problem your product solves starts trending, you want to know before your competitors capitalize on it.

**Competitor vulnerabilities**
Signals that a competitor is losing ground—negative reviews spiking, customer complaints clustering around a specific issue, pricing changes that suggest pressure, or reduced activity that may indicate resource constraints. These gaps are often your best growth levers.

**Underserved customer needs**
Patterns in customer language, reviews, forums, and support communities that reveal what buyers in your market are asking for but not getting. These are direct indicators of product gaps you could fill.

**Adjacent market opportunities**
Related markets, customer segments, or use cases that are growing quickly and share meaningful overlap with your current positioning. Adjacent moves are often lower-risk growth paths than entering entirely new verticals.

**Emerging partnerships and distribution channels**
New platforms, directories, communities, or channel partners gaining traction in your space—places where your target customers are gathering that you may not have considered for distribution.

## How the Radar Stays Relevant to You

The Opportunity Radar doesn't surface generic market news—it filters signals through your Founder Memory. Because it knows your business category, target customer, competitive landscape, and current goals, it focuses only on opportunities that are plausibly relevant to your situation. A B2B SaaS tool for HR teams sees a completely different Radar than a D2C consumer product targeting fitness enthusiasts.

As your Founder Memory grows richer and your market focus sharpens, the Radar's output becomes more precise. Early in your project, signals may be broader. As you complete more modules and refine your positioning, the Radar calibrates accordingly.

## Acting on an Opportunity

Finding an opportunity is only valuable if you do something with it. The Opportunity Radar is built to connect directly to your Founder Journey so you can move from insight to action without losing momentum.

When you spot an opportunity worth pursuing:

1. **Expand the opportunity card** to read the full signal analysis, including why the Radar flagged it and what the potential looks like given your current positioning.
2. **Save to Founder Memory** to record the opportunity and add it to your business context. This ensures the Founder Coach, Decision Simulator, and other agents can reference it going forward.
3. **Send to Founder Coach** to discuss the opportunity strategically—ask the Coach whether it's worth pursuing, what pursuing it would require, and how it fits your current priorities.
4. **Run a Decision Simulation** if acting on the opportunity would represent a significant commitment of resources or a change in direction.
5. **Add to your roadmap** if you decide to pursue it—link the opportunity to a specific action or milestone in your Founder Journey.

## Update Frequency

The Opportunity Radar refreshes on a schedule you set in your configuration (see above). By default, it refreshes weekly and surfaces the top opportunities since your last session. You can also trigger a manual refresh at any time by clicking **Refresh Now** from the Radar dashboard—this draws from your AI credit balance.

Each refresh cycle replaces low-relevance signals with newer, higher-relevance ones, so your Radar stays current rather than accumulating stale opportunities over time.

<Tip>
Make it a weekly habit to spend 10–15 minutes reviewing your Opportunity Radar before you plan your week. Markets move fast, and the founders who spot emerging trends early—before they become obvious—consistently outmaneuver competitors who only react. Pair your Radar review with a quick Founder Coach conversation to talk through the most interesting signals and decide what, if anything, to act on.
