# AI Prompt Engine: Generate Custom Business Content with AI

> The AI Prompt Engine lets you generate any business content—ad copy, emails, social posts, pitch decks—using your GetBuilo business context for personalized output.

The AI Prompt Engine is your on-demand content studio inside GetBuilo. Instead of staring at a blank page, you describe what you need and the engine produces polished, business-ready content in seconds—drawing on the details you've already built into your Founder Memory so every output feels written specifically for your company, your audience, and your goals.

## What Is the AI Prompt Engine?

The AI Prompt Engine is a flexible content-generation tool built directly into the Founder Journey. It combines a powerful large language model with your live business context—your brand voice, target personas, value proposition, pricing, and competitive positioning—to produce content that's immediately usable rather than generic.

Unlike stand-alone AI writing tools, the Prompt Engine doesn't ask you to re-explain your business every time. It already knows who you are. You simply choose what you want to create and hit **Generate**.

<Note>
  The AI Prompt Engine pulls data from your **Founder Memory** automatically. The richer your Founder Memory profile, the more accurate and on-brand your generated content will be.

## How Founder Memory Powers Personalization

Every piece of content the Prompt Engine generates is shaped by your **Founder Memory**—the living knowledge base that GetBuilo builds as you move through the Founder Journey.

When you complete stages like Idea Validation, Customer Persona, and Brand Creation, that information is stored in Founder Memory. The Prompt Engine reads this context at generation time so your outputs automatically reflect:

* **Your brand voice and tone** (formal, casual, bold, approachable)
* **Your target customer personas** (demographics, pain points, motivations)
* **Your unique value proposition** and key differentiators
* **Your pricing model** and offer structure
* **Your competitive landscape** and positioning

<Tip>
  Before using the Prompt Engine for the first time, complete the **Brand Creation** and **Customer Persona** stages. These two stages feed the most critical context for high-quality content output.
</Tip>

## Preset Templates vs. Custom Prompts

You have two ways to generate content:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Preset Templates" icon="list-check">
    Pre-built prompt structures for common content types. Just fill in a few variables (product name, audience, goal) and generate. Ideal for getting started quickly or producing standard formats.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Custom Prompts" icon="pen-to-square">
    Write your own prompt from scratch for complete creative control. Reference your business context, specify tone, length, format, and any unique requirements. Best for one-off or highly specific content needs.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

<Note>
  Preset templates use fewer credits on average because they are optimized prompts tuned for efficiency. Custom prompts with extensive instructions may consume more credits depending on output length and complexity.

## How to Use the AI Prompt Engine

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the AI Prompt Engine">
    Access the Prompt Engine from the **Founder Journey** sidebar or directly from the **Marketing Strategy** module. Look for the **AI Prompt Engine** card in either location.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a preset template or write a custom prompt">

  </Step>

  <Step title="Select content type and target audience">
    Use the dropdowns to specify the **content type** (e.g., Facebook Ad, Cold Email, Blog Outline) and the **target audience** (pull from your saved personas or enter a custom description). These selections guide the model's tone, length, and structure.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Generate">
    Hit the **Generate** button. The engine will process your prompt using your Founder Memory context and return the completed content—typically within 10–20 seconds depending on output length.

  </Step>
</Steps>

## Tips for Writing Effective Prompts

<Accordion title="Be specific about format and length">
  Tell the engine exactly what you want: "Write a 3-email welcome sequence. Each email should be under 200 words, with a clear CTA at the end." Vague prompts produce vague output—precision gets you production-ready content faster.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Reference your audience explicitly">
  Even though Founder Memory provides context, naming your audience in the prompt sharpens the output: "Write for first-time e-commerce founders who are overwhelmed by marketing complexity." This narrows the engine's focus and reduces irrelevant content.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Specify tone and voice">
  Include a tone descriptor: "Write in a confident, conversational tone—like a knowledgeable friend, not a corporate brochure." If your brand voice is defined in Founder Memory, you can simply write "use my brand voice" and the engine will apply it.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Use examples to anchor the style">
  If you have existing content you like, paste a short excerpt into your custom prompt: "Match the style of this example: \[paste text]." The engine will adapt its output to mirror that style.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Iterate rather than regenerate from scratch">
  If the first result is close but not quite right, edit the output directly or adjust only the part of the prompt that needs refinement and click **Regenerate**. Incremental iteration is faster and cheaper than starting over each time.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Save your best custom prompts">
  If you write a custom prompt that produces great results, save it as a template in your project library. You can reuse it with different products, audiences, or campaigns without rewriting it each time.
</Accordion>

## Credit Cost

Each generation from the AI Prompt Engine consumes AI credits from your account balance.

| Content Type | Approximate Credit Cost |
| -------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------- |
| Short-form (ad copy, social post, email subject line) | 1–2 credits |
| Medium-form (single email, product description, slide content) | 3–5 credits             |
| Long-form (email sequence, blog outline, sales script)         | 6–12 credits            |
| Pitch deck narrative (full deck) | 15–25 credits |

<Note>
  Credit costs are estimates and may vary based on output length and the complexity of your custom prompt. Check your credit balance in the top navigation bar before running large generations.
</Note>

To learn more about credits, how they're allocated per plan, and how to purchase top-ups, see [AI Credits](/getting-started/ai-credits).
