# How to Create Your First Business Project in GetBuilo

> Learn how to create a new business project in GetBuilo, enter your idea, and kick off your AI-powered Founder Journey in just a few clicks.

Every business you build in GetBuilo lives inside its own project. A project is your dedicated workspace for a single business idea—it stores your Founder Journey progress, your AI-generated research, your brand assets, your website, and your marketing strategy all in one place. Creating your first project takes about 60 seconds, and the moment you do, GetBuilo's AI begins working on your behalf. Here is how to get started.

## Creating Your First Project

<Steps>
  ### From Your Dashboard, Click 'New Project'

  After logging in, you land on your GetBuilo dashboard. If this is your first time, you will see a prominent **Create Your First Project** card in the center of the screen. On subsequent visits, the **+ New Project** button sits in the top-left corner of the project list panel. Click either one to open the project creation screen.

  ### Enter Your Business Idea

  You will see a large text field with the prompt: *"Describe your business idea."* Write your idea in plain, natural language—a single sentence works, but a short paragraph gives GetBuilo more to work with. Describe the problem you are solving, who you are solving it for, and your rough approach. You do not need a polished pitch. The more genuine and specific your description is at this stage, the more targeted and useful your AI outputs will be throughout the journey.

  ### Choose a Business Category

  Select the category that best fits your idea from the dropdown menu. Options include **SaaS / Software**, **E-commerce / Physical Products**, **Services / Agency**, **Marketplace / Platform**, **Content / Media**, **Coaching / Education**, **Community**, and **Other**. This categorization helps GetBuilo apply the right market benchmarks, business model patterns, and competitive frameworks to your analysis from the very beginning.

  ### Click 'Start Journey'

  Hit the **Start Journey** button. GetBuilo saves your project, initializes your Founder Journey dashboard, and loads your new project workspace. You will see a brief loading state as the platform sets up your project context and prepares the first AI analysis.

  ### GetBuilo Runs the First AI Analysis

  As soon as your project is created, GetBuilo automatically runs an initial analysis of your idea. The Founder Coach generates a first-look assessment covering the apparent strengths of your concept, the key questions you should answer early, and a suggested starting point in the Founder Journey. This first analysis costs a small number of AI credits and sets the stage for everything that follows.

  ### Your Founder Journey Dashboard Appears

  Your project workspace is ready. You will see the **Founder Journey sidebar** on the left showing all stages—Idea Validation, Product Designer, Business Model, and so on—with your current position highlighted. The **Founder Coach panel** shows your initial assessment. Click **Run Idea Validation** to kick off your first full AI analysis and get your idea scored.
</Steps>

<Tip>
  The quality of your AI outputs is directly proportional to the specificity of your idea description. Instead of writing *"an app for fitness"*, try something like *"a mobile app that helps busy parents in their 30s and 40s build a consistent 20-minute home workout habit without needing equipment or a gym membership."* The second version gives GetBuilo a problem, an audience, a constraint, and a context—everything it needs to generate research, personas, and strategy that actually applies to your idea.
</Tip>

<Info>
  You can edit your idea description at any time after creating a project. Head to **Project Settings** (the gear icon next to your project name) and update the description in the **Idea** tab. Keep in mind that changing your idea description after running AI analyses may make some existing outputs less relevant—GetBuilo will prompt you to decide whether to regenerate affected modules or keep your existing results.
