# Build Your First Business in One Day with GetBuilo

> A complete walkthrough for going from a raw business idea to a validated, designed, and ready-to-launch business using GetBuilo's AI tools—in a single day.

Building a business no longer takes months of spreadsheets, agency fees, and guesswork. With GetBuilo, you can go from a raw idea to a validated, branded, and published business in a single focused workday. This tutorial walks you through every step—morning to evening—so you finish the day with a real business foundation, not just a document full of plans.

<Tip>
  Block your calendar for a full day before you start. Treat this like a real work session: silence notifications, close unrelated tabs, and commit to finishing each phase before moving to the next. Entrepreneurs who complete this tutorial in one sitting report significantly higher momentum than those who spread it across days.
</Tip>

<Note>
  Running through this full tutorial uses approximately **80–100 credits**. Make sure your account has sufficient credits before you begin. You can check your balance in **Settings → Credits** and top up at any time without losing your progress.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create Your Account and Start a New Project">
    If you haven't already, sign up at [getbuilo.com](https://getbuilo.com) and confirm your email address. Once you're inside the dashboard, click **New Project** in the top-right corner. Give your project a working name—this doesn't have to be your final business name, just something descriptive enough to recognize later (e.g., "Freelance Invoice Tool" or "Pet Subscription Box"). Select your industry category from the dropdown and click **Create Project**. GetBuilo will initialize your project workspace with all the AI modules you'll use throughout the day.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Your Business Idea with Detail">
    Inside your new project, open the **Idea Input** panel. In the text field, describe your business idea in as much detail as you can. Don't just write one sentence—explain the problem you're solving, who you're solving it for, how your solution works, and why you think it will succeed. A richer description gives GetBuilo's AI more signal to work with, which directly improves the quality of everything it generates for you.

    A strong idea input answers these questions:

    * **What problem does this solve?** (Be specific about the pain.)
    * **Who has this problem?** (Describe your target customer.)
    * **How does your solution work?** (The core mechanism.)
    * **Why is now the right time?** (Market trends, technology shifts, personal experience.)

    Once you're satisfied with your description, click **Save Idea**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run Idea Validation — Review the Score and Refine Your Idea">
    Click **Run Idea Validation**. GetBuilo's AI will analyze your idea across five dimensions: market demand, competitive landscape, revenue potential, execution complexity, and timing. Within a minute, you'll see a **Validation Score** from 0–100, along with a breakdown of each dimension and a written summary of your idea's strengths and risks.

    Read the full report carefully. Pay particular attention to the risks section—these are areas the AI has flagged as potential obstacles. If your score is below 60, use the **Refine Idea** prompt box to adjust your approach. You might narrow your target market, change your monetization model, or pivot the problem you're addressing. You can run the validation as many times as you need until you're satisfied with the score and the reasoning behind it.

    A score of 70 or above is a solid foundation to continue building on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate Your Business Model Canvas">
    With a validated idea in hand, click **Generate Business Model Canvas**. GetBuilo will populate all nine blocks of a standard Business Model Canvas—Customer Segments, Value Propositions, Channels, Customer Relationships, Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Key Partnerships, and Cost Structure—based on your idea description and validation data.

    Review each block and make edits directly in the canvas. Click any block to open an inline editor. The AI gives you a strong starting point, but your firsthand knowledge of your industry and customers will make these descriptions sharper. When every block reflects your thinking, click **Save Canvas**. This document will inform the outputs of every other module in your project.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set Pricing with Pricing Recommendations">
    Open the **Pricing Recommendations** module. GetBuilo will analyze your business model, target customer, and competitive landscape to suggest a pricing strategy. You'll see recommended price points, a comparison of pricing models (subscription, one-time, freemium, usage-based), and a rationale for each recommendation.

    Select the pricing model that fits your business and enter your specific price tiers. If you're uncertain, start with the AI's top recommendation—you can always adjust pricing later. Click **Save Pricing**. Your pricing data will automatically populate your website's pricing section and your business model documentation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Run Market Research">
    Open the **Market Research** module and click **Generate Report**. The AI will research your target market, pulling together data on market size (TAM, SAM, SOM), growth trends, key customer pain points, and purchasing behaviors. This report gives you the factual foundation to make confident decisions about positioning and go-to-market strategy.

    Read through the full report. Use the **Highlight** tool to mark sections that surprise you or that you want to reference later. If the market size looks smaller than expected, revisit your customer segmentation—sometimes broadening or narrowing the definition of your market changes the picture significantly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Analyze Competitors">
    Inside the Market Research module, click the **Competitor Analysis** tab. Enter the names of up to five competitors you already know, or let GetBuilo surface competitors automatically based on your idea. The AI will generate a side-by-side comparison covering pricing, positioning, key features, target audience, and perceived weaknesses.

    Study this analysis closely. The goal isn't to copy competitors—it's to find the gaps they're leaving open. Look for underserved customer segments, missing features, or pricing tiers that nobody is occupying. Take notes on where you can position differently. These insights will feed directly into your brand voice and marketing strategy later in the day.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build Your Customer Persona(s)">
    Open the **Customer Personas** module and click **Generate Persona**. Based on your idea, market research, and competitor analysis, GetBuilo will create a detailed persona including demographic profile, job title, daily challenges, goals, buying triggers, and objections to purchasing.

    Review the persona and personalize it with anything you know from direct experience—customer conversations, support tickets, industry forums. If your business serves more than one distinct customer type, click **Add Persona** and generate a second one. Most early-stage businesses do well with one or two personas maximum. Trying to serve five types of customers at once is a common early mistake—stay focused.

    Save your personas. Every marketing and copy output GetBuilo generates for the rest of the day will be tailored to these profiles.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate Your Brand (Name, Colors, and Voice)">
    Open the **Brand Builder** module. Click **Generate Brand Identity**. GetBuilo will propose a set of brand name options, a primary color palette, typography suggestions, and a brand voice description—all derived from your business model, target personas, and competitive positioning.

    Browse through the name options and select the one that resonates most. If none feel right, use the **Regenerate Names** button with a refined prompt (e.g., "More modern and minimal" or "More trustworthy and professional"). Once you have a name you like, confirm your color palette and brand voice. These assets will be applied automatically to your website and all generated marketing copy.

    You can always revisit and update your brand later, but having a consistent identity in place now will make the rest of the day's work feel more real and coherent.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Build Your Website with the Website Builder">
    Open the **Website Builder** from the left navigation. GetBuilo will automatically generate a full multi-section website using your brand identity, business description, customer personas, and pricing data. You'll see a live preview with sections for Hero, Features, Pricing, About, and a Call to Action.

    Take a moment to read through the entire site before making edits. The AI typically gets the structure and tone right on the first pass, so focus your edits on specifics: proper nouns, claims that need softening or strengthening, and any details that don't accurately reflect your business.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and Edit Website Sections">
    Click into each section to open the inline editor:

    * **Hero:** Edit the headline and subheadline to make them punchy and customer-focused. The headline should name the benefit, not the feature. The subheadline should add one layer of specificity.
    * **Features:** Add or remove features using the section editor. Reorder them so the most compelling feature appears first.
    * **Pricing:** Confirm your tiers and descriptions match what you set up in the Pricing Recommendations module. Adjust any language that sounds too generic.
    * **About:** Write a brief, honest founder story. Visitors connect with real people. Two or three sentences about why you built this is enough.
    * **CTA:** Make the call-to-action specific and low-risk. "Start your free trial" converts better than "Sign up."

    Save each section as you go.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish to Your Free Subdomain">
    When you're satisfied with the site, click **Publish**. GetBuilo will deploy your website to a free subdomain at `yourprojectname.getbuilo.app` within seconds. Once published, open the URL in a new tab and review the live site on both desktop and mobile. Check for any formatting issues, broken copy, or sections that look off on smaller screens.

    Congratulations—your business now has a live presence on the internet. Share the link with a few trusted contacts and ask for honest first impressions before you move to the final phase.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate Your Marketing Strategy">
    Open the **Marketing Strategy** module and click **Generate Strategy**. The AI will produce a complete go-to-market plan that includes your positioning statement, recommended acquisition channels, a content strategy outline, and suggested campaigns for your first 30 days.

    Read through the full strategy document. The channel recommendations are based on your persona data and business model—take them seriously. If the AI recommends LinkedIn over Instagram, there's a specific reason tied to where your target customers spend time. Use the **Customize Strategy** panel to adjust any channel priorities based on your own knowledge and bandwidth.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete the Launch Checklist">
    Open the **Launch Checklist** from your project dashboard. This checklist aggregates all the key milestones from every module and shows you which items are complete and which still need attention. Work through any remaining items—these might include things like connecting a custom domain, adding a privacy policy link, or setting up a contact email address.

    The checklist doesn't gate your launch, but completing it means you've covered the fundamentals that most early-stage businesses miss. Check off each item as you finish it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check Your Business Readiness Score">
    From your project dashboard, open the **Business Readiness Score** panel. GetBuilo calculates this score based on the completeness and quality of every module in your project—validation, business model, market research, brand, website, and marketing strategy.

    A score of 80 or above means you have a solid, well-rounded foundation ready for launch. If your score is lower, the panel will highlight the specific areas dragging it down. Address any quick wins before you call it a day.

    Once you're satisfied with your score, take a screenshot of your dashboard. You've just built a real business foundation in a single day—that's worth documenting.
  </Step>
