Your first marketing campaign doesn’t need a big budget or a dedicated marketing team. It needs a clear message, a defined audience, and the discipline to show up consistently on one channel. GetBuilo’s Marketing Strategy module gives you the positioning framework, and the AI Prompt Engine writes the actual content—social posts, email copy, and ad headlines—in minutes. This tutorial takes you from zero to published campaign, one step at a time.
Start with organic social media or email before spending any money on paid ads. Organic channels give you immediate feedback on what messaging resonates with your audience—without financial risk. Once you know which posts and subject lines drive the most engagement, you can confidently put ad spend behind proven content.

Complete Your Customer Persona First

Every piece of campaign copy you generate will be tailored to your customer persona. If you haven’t built one yet, open the Customer Personas module in your project and click Generate Persona before continuing. Your persona should include demographic details, daily challenges, goals, and the specific language your customers use to describe their problems.A well-defined persona is the difference between generic copy that gets ignored and specific copy that makes your ideal customer feel seen. If you already have a saved persona, confirm it’s accurate and up to date—then continue to the next step.
2

Open Marketing Strategy

From your project dashboard, click Marketing Strategy in the left navigation. If you haven’t generated your strategy yet, click Generate Strategy. GetBuilo will analyze your business model, customer persona, and competitive positioning to produce a full go-to-market plan. The strategy document includes:
  • A positioning statement
  • Recommended acquisition channels with priority rankings
  • A 30-day content calendar outline
  • Suggested campaign themes and hooks
Read the full document before moving forward. Understanding your overall strategy will help you make better decisions in every step that follows.

Review Your AI-Generated Positioning Statement

Inside your Marketing Strategy, locate the Positioning Statement section. This statement is the backbone of your entire campaign—it defines who you serve, what you do, how you’re different, and why it matters.A strong positioning statement follows this structure:
For [target customer] who [has this problem], [your brand] is [the category] that [key differentiator], unlike [main alternative] which [what competitors do instead].
Review the AI-generated version critically. Ask yourself: Does this sound like something my customer would actually connect with? Does the differentiator reflect a real advantage I have? Edit the statement until it feels accurate and compelling. This statement should inform the tone and angle of every piece of content you create in this campaign.

Select Your Primary Channel for This Campaign

For your first campaign, choose one primary channel and commit to it fully. Spreading your effort across three channels at once produces mediocre results on all of them. GetBuilo’s marketing strategy will recommend a channel based on your persona data—take that recommendation seriously.Choose one of the following based on your business type and target audience:

Social Media

Best for B2C products, visual brands, and businesses where your customers spend time on LinkedIn, Instagram, or X. Ideal for building awareness and community early.

Email

Best for B2B, SaaS, and high-consideration purchases. If you have any existing contacts or an early waitlist, email will drive higher conversion than any other channel.

Paid Ads

Best after you’ve validated your messaging organically. Use paid ads to amplify content you already know converts—not to test positioning for the first time.
Once you’ve chosen your channel, note it down—you’ll use it in the next step when you generate your campaign content.

Use the AI Prompt Engine to Generate Campaign Content

Open the AI Prompt Engine from your project sidebar. This tool lets you generate specific marketing assets using natural language prompts, with your business context automatically included. Use the following prompts to generate your first campaign’s content:
Use this prompt in the AI Prompt Engine to generate your social posts:
Review the five posts. Edit any that feel off-brand or too generic. Look for specific, vivid language—replace abstract claims like “saves you time” with concrete ones like “cuts invoicing from 45 minutes to 3.”
Use this prompt to generate your launch announcement email:
Choose the subject line that feels most authentic to your voice. The email body will likely need light editing—personalize the opening line to reference something specific about your audience’s situation.
Use this prompt if you plan to run paid ads now or in the near future:
Test all three headlines. Don’t delete the ones you’re less sure about—ad performance is often counterintuitive, and the headline you like least may outperform your favorite in real conditions.
Save all generated content in your project’s Content Library by clicking Save to Project after each generation.

Review and Edit Generated Copy

With all your content saved, do a full editorial review before scheduling or posting anything. Read each piece out loud—awkward phrasing is much easier to catch when you hear it spoken than when you read it silently.Apply this checklist to every piece of content:
  • First line earns attention — does the opening hook make you want to keep reading?
  • One clear message — each post or email communicates a single idea, not three
  • Customer-first language — says “you” more than “we”
  • Specific, not vague — replaces generalities with concrete numbers, names, or scenarios
  • Clear CTA — every piece tells the reader exactly what to do next
  • Brand voice is consistent — all pieces sound like they come from the same company
Edit until every piece passes this checklist. This is the most important step in the entire tutorial—good copy is the difference between a campaign that drives business and one that gets ignored.

Set Up Your Chosen Channel

Before you publish anything, make sure your distribution channel is properly configured:If you chose social media:
  • Create or update your business profile with your brand name, logo, and a completed bio that links to your website
  • Follow 20–30 relevant accounts in your industry before you post—this seeds your feed with context and signals to the algorithm that you’re an active participant, not a new spam account
  • Pin your best launch post to the top of your profile once you publish it
If you chose email:
  • Connect an email marketing tool (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, Beehiiv, or similar) to your GetBuilo project via Settings → Integrations
  • Import your existing contacts if you have any, or set up a signup form on your website to start building your list
  • Configure a sender name and reply-to address that uses your custom domain (e.g., hello@yourbusiness.com) to improve deliverability and trust
If you chose paid ads:
  • Create your ad account on the relevant platform (Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, or LinkedIn Campaign Manager)
  • Install the tracking pixel on your website so you can measure conversions from day one
  • Set a daily budget cap you’re comfortable with—start small (1010–20/day) until you find a winning ad creative
8

Schedule or Post Your First Content

With your channel set up and content edited, it’s time to publish. For your first piece of content, post it manually rather than scheduling it—this lets you monitor early reactions in real time and respond quickly to comments or replies.Recommended launch sequence:
  1. Publish your founder story post first—it sets the human context for everything that follows
  2. Post your problem-focused content second—this attracts people who are actively experiencing the pain you solve
  3. Send your email announcement to your list on the same day or the day after your first social posts go live
  4. Follow up with benefit-focused and feature-specific posts over the next week
Engage with every comment and reply you receive in the first 48 hours. Early engagement signals are a major factor in organic reach, and responding personally to early commenters builds the kind of community that converts.
9

Track Results and Iterate

After your first week of posting, review your performance data in your chosen channel’s analytics dashboard. Look for these key signals:
  • Engagement rate (likes, comments, shares as a percentage of impressions) — tells you whether your content is resonating
  • Link clicks — tells you whether your CTAs are driving traffic to your site
  • Email open rate and click rate — benchmarks are ~30% open rate and ~3% click rate for a new business list
  • Website traffic from the campaign — track this in Google Analytics (or GetBuilo’s built-in analytics if connected)
Identify your top-performing post or email—the one with the highest engagement or click rate. Use the AI Prompt Engine to generate variations of that winning content. Double down on what’s working before experimenting with new angles.Return to your Marketing Strategy module and use the Iterate Strategy prompt to update your plan based on early results. Your strategy should evolve as you learn what your audience actually responds to.
