Every AI generation in GetBuilo—whether it’s a market research report, a brand name list, or a full website build—uses AI credits. Credits are the unit of exchange between you and GetBuilo’s AI engine. Each plan comes with a monthly credit allocation, credits refresh automatically at the start of each billing cycle, and you can purchase additional credit packs any time you need more. Understanding how credits work helps you plan your AI usage and get the most out of your monthly allocation.

What Are AI Credits?

AI credits measure the computational work involved in generating content. More complex or output-rich generations cost more credits than simple ones. A quick Founder Coach question costs far fewer credits than generating a full competitor analysis because the latter requires more AI processing, more data analysis, and more structured output generation. Think of credits like minutes on a phone plan: simple, short tasks use fewer, and longer, richer tasks use more. Every plan comes with a monthly allowance sized to support typical usage at that tier.

The table below shows approximate credit costs for common GetBuilo actions. Exact costs may vary slightly based on output length and complexity.

Monthly Credit Refresh

Your credit allocation refreshes automatically on your billing renewal date each month. For example, if you subscribed on the 15th of the month, your credits refresh on the 15th of every subsequent month. Unused credits from the previous month do not carry over—each cycle starts fresh with your full plan allocation. You can see your current credit balance, usage breakdown, and renewal date in Settings → Credits & Usage.

Checking Your Balance

Your credit balance is always visible in the top-right corner of your GetBuilo workspace, next to your account avatar. Click your balance to open the Credits & Usage panel, which shows:
  • Remaining credits for the current cycle
  • Credits used this cycle, broken down by module and action
  • Your renewal date and the number of days until your next refresh
  • Team usage breakdown (on Growth and Founder OS plans)

What Happens When Credits Run Out

If you exhaust your monthly credit allocation before your renewal date, GetBuilo will notify you via an in-app banner and email. Once your credits reach zero:
  • You can no longer run new AI generations until your credits refresh or you purchase additional credits.
  • You retain full access to all previously generated content—nothing is locked or deleted.
  • You can still view, edit, and export any outputs already created.
To continue generating, you can either wait for your monthly refresh or purchase a credit top-up pack immediately from Settings → Credits & Usage → Buy More Credits.

Buying Additional Credit Packs

If you need more credits before your monthly refresh, you can purchase additional credit packs at any time. Credit packs are available in three sizes and are added to your balance instantly upon purchase. Purchase credit packs from Settings → Billing → Add-Ons, or visit the Add-Ons page for full details.

Credits on Team Plans

On the Growth and Founder OS plans, all team members within a project draw from the same shared credit pool. This means the project Owner’s monthly allocation is the total budget for the entire team—every generation run by an Editor counts against the same balance. As the project Owner, you can monitor individual credit consumption by team member in Settings → Credits & Usage → Team Breakdown. This helps you understand which workflows are consuming the most credits and manage your shared pool effectively throughout the month.
Plan your credit usage around high-priority modules first. Run your Idea Validation, Business Model, and Market Research early in your billing cycle—these are foundational outputs that inform everything else. If you’re running low on credits near the end of the month, use the remaining balance for targeted Founder Coach conversations or small AI Prompt Engine tasks rather than starting a full new module generation.
