GetBuilo’s Product Designer takes the validated concept from your Idea Validation report and translates it into a structured, prioritized feature set with user stories, MVP scope, and a clear product direction. Instead of staring at a blank roadmap, you get an AI-generated starting point grounded in your specific market, your target users, and the competitive landscape. From there, you customize, reorder, and shape the product into something that reflects your vision—without losing focus on what actually needs to ship first.

What the Product Designer Does

The Product Designer bridges the gap between “here’s my idea” and “here’s what we’re building.” When you open the module, the AI reads your validated idea, your business model context, and any competitor information you’ve gathered, then generates a structured product definition that includes:
  • Core Features — The capabilities your product absolutely must have to deliver its core value proposition. These are non-negotiable for your MVP.
  • Nice-to-Have Features — Valuable additions that improve the product but aren’t required on day one. These belong in a later iteration or V2 roadmap.
  • MVP Scope Recommendation — A clear line drawn by the AI showing which features belong in your Minimum Viable Product and why. The recommendation is based on development complexity, user impact, and time-to-value.
  • User Stories — For each feature, the AI generates a plain-language user story in the format “As a [user type], I want to [do something] so that [I achieve a goal].” These stories make your feature list immediately useful for designers and developers.
  • Feature Descriptions — Each feature comes with a concise description explaining what it does, why it matters to users, and how it supports your value proposition.

Managing Your Feature Set

The Product Designer gives you full control over your feature list:
  • Add a Feature — Click + Add Feature, describe what you want to add, and the AI will generate a user story and description for it automatically. You can also write the details manually.
  • Remove a Feature — Hover over any feature card and click the trash icon to remove it. Removing a Core Feature will prompt a confirmation, since it may affect your MVP scope.
  • Reprioritize Features — Drag and drop features to reorder them within their category (Core or Nice-to-Have), or promote a Nice-to-Have to Core status by dragging it into the Core section.
  • Edit a Feature — Click any feature card to open the detail editor. You can rewrite the user story, update the description, or change the priority tier.

Exporting Your Product Spec

Once you’re satisfied with your feature set, click Export Product Spec to download a clean Markdown or PDF document containing your MVP scope, full feature list, user stories, and feature descriptions. This document is ready to share with a co-founder, freelance developer, or design agency.

How to Use the Product Designer

Open your project and navigate to Product Designer

From the left sidebar of your project, click Product Designer under the Founder Journey section. The module will automatically load the AI-generated feature set based on your idea and any validation data available.

Review the AI-generated feature list

Read through the Core and Nice-to-Have feature sections. Check that the features align with the product you have in mind and that the MVP scope reflects a realistic first release.

Edit and remove features that don't fit

Remove any features that don’t belong in your product or are too far out of scope. Click into feature cards to rewrite descriptions or user stories that need adjusting.

Add features the AI missed

If you have specific features in mind that the AI didn’t include, click + Add Feature and describe them. The AI will enrich them with a user story and description, which you can then edit.

Confirm your MVP scope

Review the MVP Scope Recommendation carefully. If you disagree with a feature’s placement, drag it between the Core and Nice-to-Have sections. Aim to keep your MVP lean—focus on the smallest set of features that delivers real value to your first users.

Prioritize your Core features

Within the Core section, order your features by priority. The top features represent your build sequence—what ships first, second, and third.

Export your product spec

Click Export Product Spec and choose your preferred format (Markdown or PDF). Save it to your project files or share it directly with your team.
Resist the urge to move Nice-to-Have features into your MVP. The most common reason early-stage products fail to launch is scope creep. Lock your MVP scope early, ship it, and use real user feedback to decide what to build next. You can always return to the Product Designer to plan your V2 roadmap once your first version is live.
The feature set and user stories generated in the Product Designer feed directly into GetBuilo’s Website Builder. When you build your landing page, the AI pulls your Core features and value proposition from this module to pre-populate your features section, hero copy, and product description. Keeping your Product Designer up to date ensures your website copy stays accurate.
