Every business starts as an idea, and in GetBuilo, every idea lives inside a project. A project is your dedicated workspace—it holds your AI-generated outputs, Founder Memory, business model, brand assets, and everything else the platform creates as you build. When you create a project, you’re giving GetBuilo the context it needs to generate deeply relevant, personalized guidance from your very first prompt. This page walks you through how to create your first project, configure it properly, and keep your dashboard organized as your portfolio of ideas grows.

Creating a New Project

1

Open the Dashboard

Log in to GetBuilo and navigate to your Dashboard. You’ll see all your existing projects listed here, along with a prominent + New Project button in the top-right corner. Click it to begin.
2

Name Your Project

Enter a clear, descriptive name for your project. This name appears across your dashboard, exports, and any shared workspaces, so make it meaningful. Instead of “Idea 1,” try something like “EcoBox – Sustainable Packaging Subscription.”
3

Write a Project Description

Add a short description of your business idea—one to three sentences that capture what problem you’re solving, who you’re solving it for, and how. GetBuilo uses this description to seed your Founder Memory and improve the quality of every AI output from the start.
4

Select a Business Category

Choose the category that best fits your idea from the dropdown menu. Categories include SaaS, E-Commerce, Marketplace, Service Business, Consumer App, Content & Media, Agency, and Other. Selecting the right category helps GetBuilo tailor its AI models, competitor data, and market insights to your specific context.
5

Set Your Project Status

Choose an initial status for the project. You can change this at any time as your idea progresses. See the status definitions below for guidance.
6

Create the Project

Click Create Project. GetBuilo initializes your workspace, sets up your Founder Journey, and takes you directly into the Idea Validation module to get started.

Understanding Project Status Indicators

GetBuilo uses four status labels to help you track where each idea stands. You can update a project’s status at any time from the project settings or directly from your dashboard.

Managing Your Projects

Once a project exists, you have several options for keeping your workspace organized. Access these options by opening any project and clicking the ⋯ menu in the top-right corner of the project header, or by right-clicking a project card on your dashboard. Rename a Project Select Rename from the project menu, type the new name, and press Enter. The updated name reflects everywhere immediately—including exports and shared team views. Duplicate a Project Select Duplicate to create an exact copy of the project, including its description, category, and any AI outputs you’ve generated. Duplication is useful when you want to explore a variation of an idea without overwriting your original work. The duplicate opens as a new Draft project. Archive a Project Select Archive to move a project out of your active dashboard. Archived projects are accessible from the Archived filter in your dashboard sidebar and can be restored at any time by selecting Unarchive.
When you’re juggling multiple ideas, use specific and vivid project names from the start. A name like “FitTrack – AI Personal Training App for Busy Parents” gives you instant context at a glance and makes it much easier to switch between projects without losing your train of thought. You can always rename a project, but starting with clarity saves time later.
